After waiting a week after my due date, we welcomed a planned induction. She was still the smallest baby we've had and looks so tiny to us. There are a few things I've learned in the week and a half since she's been born:
3 children feel like about 10 children a lot of the time
oatmeal can clog up a toilet
people who are willing to bring food to us are truly lifesavers
a 3-year old who is being ignored will find interesting and sometimes destructive things to entertain herself, like coloring with crayons on our bathtub
if i'm sleep deprived enough, i can get drenched from spit up in the middle of the night and roll over and go back to sleep - wet
an 8-year old feels the changes of a newborn baby as much as a 3-year old does - and he's going to show it
there's no way i could do this by myself. i'm going to be more proactive in helping other people when they need it from now on. people who help - not just offer - have been angels to me the past week or so
a husband who is a bishop and who owns his own business is seldom home, even with a new baby, and even if he wants to be. this makes both of us stronger (darn it)
elaine is a sweet, sweet blessing and we all love her to pieces.

She is so precious - I am jealous I'm not there to bring you dinner, take Hayden and Kate to the park and out to the movies,...and to hold that little angel. Hannah thinks she is so lucky to have a new niece!
Alice and Cletus, congratulations!!
Congratulations! Love the name and her cute little face!
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! She is beautiful!!! Secondly...amen, amen, and amen. :)
Oh she is beautiful!! Good works guys!! And hang in there! We get to experience 3 toward the end of November. I'm excited. And nervous. :D Many people say 3 is the hardest. I believe them. :)
Congrats Alice! Love the name too! She looks just like you and Cletus. Auntie Mary is already gushing over this little sweetie.
congrats on your darling new baby girl- I remember the transition from two to three being craaazy. I can't imagine having the added craziness of my husband being a bishop and having a new dental practice.
Things did get easier for me with the whole three kids thing so I hope they do for you as well.
Good luck and congrats again!
Congratulations Alice! I love the part about being sleep deprived and falling back to sleep wet. I definitely can relate. Good luck with everything.

PS. Our babies are only a few days apart! April was born on the 9th.
I'm sure it is a challenge but probably will continue to be for a while. All we can do is our best! I don't have a lot of experience with 3 kids...but I read a parenting book and they said when a new baby is brought into the house, that as hard as it is to not give tons of attention to the baby...they said the baby will be okay and to give more attention to the other children. I hope things start to level out for and Cletus.
Ruth sure is adorable!
She is beautiful!! Congratulations to you all!
Congrats to you both. Isn't it amazing when the helping hands come even when you half-heartedly refuse? She's a cutie. Hang in there. The great thing about having the third is you know through experience that it will get better and eventually you will sleep again. Covered in slime:) Congrats to you all!
she is beautiful! Congrats of #3! Wish we were closer to bring in dinner and run away with the older kids to the park. Lots of hugs from TX!
