I took a spontaneous beach trip with the kids yesterday when Hayden was out of school. The weather was great and we had a blast. Hayden was even so brave as to strip down to his bathing suit and get in the water! I told him I would video tape him going in all the way (head under the water) to show Cletus when we got home. He took the challenge and plunged in .... but, alas, the video camera cut off right before he went under. Cruel. Kate chased seagulls and ate sand. All in all, a fun day.

I really admire your spontaneity. In fact, I have always been inspired by your view of mothering. When most parents would forbid their child to stick so much as a bare toe in the cold ocean water in February, you are teaching your impressionable offspring to seize the day... go all the way!
alice!!! i saw you on angie's blog and am so glad to have found you guys...it looks like you are all doing great! luv ya!
Hi Alice! Your family is the cutest!! I think your son looks so much like you! And your daughter has grown alot since I saw her at the wedding reception. This is so fun. I started a blog this year too. http://winterswonderland-4.blogspot.com (we have the same word in our title - aren't we geniuses) Now we will be able to catch up somewhere other than wedding receptions! Hooray:) Hi Cletus!
Although I am not one of your readers, I had to say hello because I've never come in contact with another Alice my age. It shocks me. Our name was last popular in 1905. I shortened mine to Ali because it felt more young. Way to stick it out.
Next time you want to up and go to the beach, call me and the girls and i will go with you!!
